Mindful Cricket Tool
Want Composure? Begin With Stillness
A great way to build consistency into your game is to stay 'level' in your emotions, rather than reacting to the highs and lows.
Many cricketers find this difficult to do, and chances are that the problem starts in their day-to-day life. Take a moment to consider if, like many players, you are actually training yourself to be ‘'emotionally reactive’' by jumping to check your device when it pings, or reacting immediately to thoughts that float into your mind.
If so, it’s time to take back control, and all you need to do is have the patience to discover and practice stillness. Find a quiet uninterrupted place to listen to the audio where you'll receive instructions for a ten minute activity. (The downloadable worksheets include a brief script as an alternative to the audio, and also some questions to reflect on after the activity).
